Apple and almond crumble

This makes a nice change from a traditional crumble mix. It would be nice with apricots or peaches too.

4 or 5 eating apples
a handful of sultanas
cinnamon to taste
60 g butter
50 g flour
100 g sugar
50 g ground almonds

Make the crumble mixture in the normal way by rubbing the butter into the flour, almonds, and sugar.

Preheat the oven to 180C. Peel the apples, core them, and cut into small cubes. Butter an ovenproof dish and put in the apples and sultanas. Season with cinnamon if you like. Sprinkle the crumble mix over it to cover the surface evenly, without pressing it down. Bake for half an hour and serve hot or warm with custard, cream, or ice cream.
